LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The winds were wicked, making it a painful walk to work Thursday morning.
Everyone WDRB's Rachel Collier saw in downtown Louisville was smartly bundled up from head to toe, fighting against the winds.
Winds below zero were gusting from five to 25 mph. One man had tears coming down his face from the wind. He had a great solution: goggles built in to his coat.
"I can't believe it," Pierre Turner said. "I feel like I just woke up in Chicago."
Frostbite and hypothermia can set in after prolonged exposure. Bring pets inside and check on elderly and disabled neighbors. Keep your gas tank full and keep your faucets on a drip to prevent pipes from bursting.
