LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Wayside Christian Mission showed its appreciation for mothers with a special lunch Sunday.
The mission held it's annual mother's Day event at Hotel Louisville.
All of Wayside's families and women were invited to attend to honor moms.
There was live music and each woman received a handbag full of gifts and a rose or carnation.
It was also put together with the help of volunteers.
"I think it is important that we help these moms that are in this situation - they may not have grown up themselves in the best family situation but they need to know that there is hope, that they are the key," said Nina Moseley with Wayside Christian Mission.
After the lunch the children all got a stuffed animal to take home.
