LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Bats and baseballs were traded for candy and costumes at Louisville Slugger Field this weekend.

The Bats hosted their annual trick-or-treat for a third year on Saturday. There was candy throughout the concourse, a costume contest with prizes. One kid even dressed up as a WDRB meteorologist.

The event ended with a screening of Pixar's "Monsters Inc." on the giant video board.

The goal of the event was to offer a fun and safe environment for families.

"Louisville Slugger Field is a family-friendly environment. Not only do we do the baseball games in the summer, but we have numerous amounts of non-baseball activities and this is just one of those," Mandy McKenzie, director of events at Slugger Field, said. "We provide a safe, family-fun atmosphere here at Slugger Field, it's what we pride ourselves on and this is just another event to add to that list."

There was also pumpkin decorating, spooky photo booths and face painting.
