LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Urban League's CEO received a national honor in Cleveland.

Lyndon Pryor was honored with the John W. Mack Medal of Honor during the 2025 National Urban League Conference. The award is one of the National Urban League's highest accolades. It is awarded to an Affiliate CEO for extraordinary and unwavering commitment to addressing social and economic equality as part of the Urban League Movement, according to a news release.

“This award isn’t about me; it's a testament to the hard work and dedication of my team," Pryor said in a statement. "We continue to fight an uphill battle for social and economic equality for Black people and others, not because we are so noble but because our community deserves it.”

It is the first time Louisville Urban League has received the award.

Mack was the president and CEO of the Urban League of Flint, Michigan and later the CEO of the Los Angeles Urban League until he retired.
