LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville worship leader was recognized on one of gospel music's biggest stages.
Jason Clayborn, worship leader at St. Stephen Church in west Louisville, received two nominations for the 41st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards.
Clayborn's song "Whatever It Is," featuring Melvin Crispell III, was nominated for Duo or Group of the Year and Contemporary Duo or Group of the Year.
The song has gained attention among gospel music fans for its message of faith and encouragement.
The Stellar Gospel Music Awards are considered one of the highest honors in gospel music, celebrating artists, performers and industry leaders from across the country.
Clayborn will compete alongside several well-known names in gospel and inspirational music. Among this year's nominees is pop and R&B superstar Mariah Carey, who earned recognition in a gospel category.
The 41st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards will be held Aug. 15 in Charlotte.
