LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A $1 million bond was set Wednesday for a man charged with fatally shooting a mother and her 14-year-old daughter Tuesday in Louisville's Portland neighborhood.
Officers were called to the 3900 block of Miami Avenue about 10:15 a.m. on a report of "persons down," Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said in a statement. That's near Bank Street and North 39th Street.
Police found the two victims shot to death at the scene and said the incident "appears to be domestic."
Tobias Malone, 24, was arrested and charged with two counts of murder, domestic violence, and one count of tampering with physical evidence.

According to an arrest citation, Malone gave a statement after being mirandized, admitting to the shooting. He also admitted to destroying a cellphone belonging to one of the victims and throwing the gun he used in the shooting out of a car window.
In court Wednesday, Malone showed no emotion. He pleaded not guilty and his bond was set at $1 million. Malone is expected to appear in court next Thursday, June 11, for a preliminary hearing.
A neighbor said there were other kids in the house on Miami Avenue and Malone kept a low profile until a few weeks ago.
"All I know was he appeared all of a sudden about two months ago," neighbor Don Jackson said. "The car just was there and it was somebody taking her place and helping her. That's all I could see. I didn't know where he came from, but he could have been a relative or anything. All you see coming out of here is just kids playing and people there."
The house is not in great shape. Windows are boarded up and a front window is missing and covered with a mattress on the inside.
Another stained mattress could be seen outside awaiting trash pickup. Another neighbor said Malone was seen Monday kicking a trash can repeatedly before sitting peacefully on the porch.
