LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Zoo is welcoming a new animal to their Australia Zone!
Bruce is a 3-year-old male cassowary that will be living in the Wallaroo Walkabout. He came to the Louisville Zoo from Brownsville, Texas.
Related to the emu and ostrich, Bruce is a large flightless bird. As he gets used to his new habitat, he will be visible periodically throughout the day.
Cassowaries are the second heaviest bird species in the world, weighing up to 175 pounds.
