LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Pumpkins soared through the air Sunday in Louisville, all in support of a good cause.
Captain's Quarters hosted it's ninth annual Chunkin’ Pumpkins Festival. Two catapults launched pumpkins from the shore and into the Ohio River, where targets were set up.
The proceeds go to two Louisville-based organizations — including Twisted Pink — that support metastatic breast cancer research and people living with breast cancer.
"Doctors don't understand why breast cancer metastasizes and how we can stop it and provide more treatment options with better quality of life for patients," said Caroline Johnson, executive director of Twisted Pink. "And so that's what we're doing here today."
Sunday's event also featured live music, face painting bouncy houses and more. Last year, it raised more than $35,000.
