LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Lt. Gov. and former Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson's wife Madeline says she was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year.
The 57-year-old Abramson said she has an excellent prognosis after having surgery and radiation treatments in Louisville. She decided to share her story with Lexington Herald Leader as a way to emphasize the importance of preventive care.
"I feel good and I feel healthy," she told the paper. She said her cancer was discovered in April during a routine mammogram and follow-up testing.
She said she is still taking medicine for her condition.
