LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man has life-threatening injuries after being hit by two cars while trying to cross the street against a red light on Shelbyville Road Saturday evening.
Aaron Ellis, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police, said officers responded around 11:50 p.m. Saturday to a report of a pedestrian struck near the intersection of Shelbyville and Moser roads.
Police said witnesses claimed the man was trying to cross against the red light nearby while wearing dark clothing.
He was hit by a vehicle headed east on Shelbyville Road. The driver stopped and remained at the scene.
But when witnesses attempted to help the man, another driver "did not heed the warnings" and hit the victim again.
That driver also stopped at the scene.
The victim was taken to UofL Hospital with critical and life-threatening injuries.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating.
