ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (AP) -- A grand jury in Kentucky has indicted a man on charges that include murder and assault in the shootings of four people in Elizabethtown.

The News-Enterprise reports Shadrach Peeler is accused of killing 34-year-old Cherie Turner last week and then going to a convenience store and killing co-owner Subash "Su" Ghale and wounding two others.

The indictment Thursday also accuses Peeler of tampering with evidence, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and resisting arrest.

Elizabethtown police were called to the store on Feb. 21 after gunshots were reported. Police spokesman John Thomas said at the time that the gunman was arrested when he returned to the scene of the first shooting.
