LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- On Friday morning, search crews recovered the body of 21-year-old Peyton Hughes who disappeared while practicing for a fishing tournament.
Hughes, a student at Campbellsville University, was located after several days of searching, his family confirmed to Lex18.
He went missing Sept. 24 on Toledo Bend Reservoir. His kayak was found empty, starting a wide search across the Texas-Louisiana border.
Hughes and a teammate had been preparing for the Bassmaster Kayak Series scheduled for the weekend.
Texas game wardens and rescue crews worked for days before locating him.
