KUTTAWA, Ky. (WDRB) -- The search for a missing 9-year-old boy ended tragically late last night when he was found dead.
Kentucky State Police began searching for Warren Patterson on May 29 after his family reported him missing about 5 p.m. Family members told police they hadn't seen Patterson for about a half-hour before making the call.
Members of the Dive Team from the Marshall County Rescue Squad found Patterson's body around 11:30 p.m. near the beach area of Kuttawa Harbor.
He was pronounced dead at scene by the Lyon County Coroner according to a news release from Kentucky State Police.
Multiple agencies assisted in the search.
No word yet on funeral arrangements.
