LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Mulligan's Mutt Madness, a national dog adoption event, was held Thursday during the Equip Expo at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville.

Mulligan's Mutt Madness took place during the Equip Expo at the Kentucky Exposition Center.

This was the 40th year for the event, put on by the TurfMutt Foundation. Kris Kiser, president and CEO of the Equip Expo, said this was the largest year ever for the event.

"It's a perfect opportunity for them to meet their new forever friend and adopt a dog and drive it home, if you will," Kiser said. "We're pawing it forward for other rescues."

Over the years, Mutt Madness has matched more than 40 dogs with families at the Equip Expo.

A $10,000 check was also presented to the Kentucky Humane Society to help support animal rehabilitation, rescue and adoption.
