Tiger Woods arrested on suspicion of DUI after rollover crash, sheriff says

JUPITER ISLAND, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say Tiger Woods showed signs of impairment at the scene of a car crash in which he struck another vehicle and rolled his Land Rover. Woods was arrested on suspicion of DUI after the crash Friday. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office says Woods was not injured. Sheriff John Budensiek says investigators believe he had taken “some type of medication or drug" but he refused a urine test. A Breathalyzer test showed now signs of alcohol. The crash occurred just after 2 p.m. not far from where Woods lives on Jupiter Island. Woods’ manager at Excel Sports did not immediately respond to a text message seeking information. This was the fourth time Woods has been involved in a car crash.

Alabama's Aden Holloway is approved to travel out of state ahead of Sweet 16 game vs. Michigan

Alabama guard Aden Holloway, who was arrested on felony drug charges, has been granted permission by a judge to leave the state as his team prepares to face Michigan in the Sweet 16 in Chicago. The Crimson Tide say “nothing has changed with regard to Aden’s status with the team.” Alabama listed Holloway as out on the availability report given to the NCAA on Thursday. The Connecticut Sun have reached an agreement to sell the team to Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta for $300 million and will move to Houston in 2027, according to a person familiar with the deal. The person spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press on Friday because the deal hasn’t been announced publicly. The WNBA Board of Governors still needs to approve the sale and the move. The team will play in Connecticut for the upcoming season before moving to Houston and becoming the Comets. Notre Dame's Hannah Hidalgo breaks NCAA single-season steals record in March Madness game

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Notre Dame guard Hannah Hidalgo has broken the NCAA’s single-season record for steals after getting seven in the first half of a Sweet 16 game against Vanderbilt. Hidalgo needed four steals to break Chastadie Barrs’ mark of 192 set with Lamar in 2018-19. The Fighting Irish junior got that in the first quarter against the Commodores. Hidalgo was already just the second player to have at least eight steals in multiple NCAA Tournament games. She had eight in each of Notre Dame’s first two tourney wins, over Fairfield and Ohio State.

Gary Woodland surges to a 3-shot lead at the Houston Open, shortly after revealing PTSD diagnosis

HOUSTON (AP) — Gary Woodland is feeling good and playing even better. Woodland didn't get hung up on his one mistake and finished with three straight birdies. That gave him a 63 and a three-shot lead going into the weekend at the Houston Open. Nicolai Hojgaard shot 62 and Jackson Suber had a 63. They were tied for second. Woodland is best known these days for sharing his struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder during his recovery from brain surgery. He says a weight has been lifted. It's been replaced with enormous support from the gallery. He hopes he can ride that all weekend.
