LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The polls are closed and election results are coming in on both sides of the river in Tuesday's general election.

In southern Indiana, voters decided on several mayoral races.

In New Albany, incumbent Mayor Jeff Gahan, a Democrat, defeated Republican mayoral candidate Edward "Ed" Clere with 52% of the vote to win a fourth term as the city's mayor.

Gahan received 3,721 votes, compared to Clere's 3,408 votes.

In Charlestown, incumbent Mayor Treva Hodges, a Democrat, was reelected over Republican challenger Ruthie Jackson.

Hodges will enter her second term as the city's mayor. She won her first term in 2019 by 30 votes, ousting four-term incumbent Bob Hall, a Republican.

In Tuesday's election, Hodges won 56% of the vote with 1,385 votes. Jackson received 1,067 votes, or 43% of the vote.

In Jeffersonville, Republican Mayor Mike Moore was unchallenged and will remain in office for a fourth term.
