New Albany-Floyd County Schools superintendent aims for smooth start as students return Wednesday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- New Albany-Floyd County students are set to head back to school Wednesday.

Earlier this year, the district approved raises for teachers and bus drivers. Superintendent Travis Madison visited WDRB Mornings on Tuesday and said the raise has helped retain bus drivers.

He said that he has been aware of the concerns about transportation.

"Biggest thing is to just take a deep breath," he said. "Like any other school year, you're going to have things you're going to have to work through. I know we've got folks who have been a little uneasy, but the biggest thing we've been trying to do is work through it systematically."

Madison said if your child's bus doesn't show up on time, give the drivers a 10-15 minute grace period.
