LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A new Norton Healthcare pharmacy facility will bring prescriptions straight to your door.

A ribbon-cutting was held Thursday morning for Norton Pharmacy-Blankenbaker. The facility uses automation to better serve patients. It's able to produce 7,000 prescriptions in an eight-hour shift.

There are dispensing robots and conveyors to help sort, as well as pharmacists and technicians. The technology is said to make the process more efficient.

Patients can pick up their prescriptions at the pharmacy or they can be sent to their home.

"Patients have often felt like their pharmacy experience was separate from the care that they received, and this helps bring that into our system," Amanda Castle, with pharmacy services, said.

Home delivery is available at no additional cost for patients with a Kentucky or Indiana address.
