LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — One year after the tragic mass shooting at Old National Bank in downtown Louisville, the bank will honor the lives of the victims.
Old National Bank locations in Louisville will close all day Wednesday, and other locations outside of Louisville will close at 1 p.m. CST, 2 p.m. EST, the bank said in a statement Tuesday.
The closure will give all Old National Bank employees a chance to simultaneously participate in a "Walk to Remember" the five employees that were killed.
“One year ago, our Old National family lost five beloved team members: Josh Barrick, Deana Eckert, Tommy Elliott, Juliana Farmer and Jim Tutt,” said Old National Chairman and CEO Jim Ryan in a statement. “We remain committed to keeping their memories alive, and to giving our team members the time they need — on this emotional day — to mourn the friends they lost, and to love, care for and support one another.”
In addition, Old National Bank has partnered with the American Red Cross to host blood drives during the week of April 10 at several bank locations throughout the area. Blood donations were vital in saving lives during the shooting. Currently, the American Red Cross is experiencing a 20-year low in donations.
