LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An Oldham County firefighter's name was added to the Kentucky Fallen Firefighters Memorial.
Sgt. Thomas Petschke's name was among 11 unveiled on the memorial at Juniper Hills Park in Frankfort on Wednesday.
The 53-year-old was responding to a fire in Goshen last November when he suffered a medical emergency and died.
Officials said the memorial is all about honoring the sacrifices of public servants and thanking their loved ones.
"It's not northern Kentucky, it's not southern Kentucky, it's not western Kentucky, it's the commonwealth. And it's a brotherhood," Kyle Carpenter, president of the Kentucky Firefighters Association, said. "It don't matter if you're a career or a volunteer, we're all in it together and we're all here to support each other. So whenever there's a loss within that community, it's felt across the commonwealth."
More than 200 names are engraved on the wall.
