LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — No one was injured after a airplane ran off the runway Thursday, hitting a house in western Kentucky.
According to the Graves County Sheriff's Facebook page, about 3:49 p.m., police received a report of a plane crash at the Mayfield Graves County Airport.
When police arrived, they found a jet airplane had crashed into a home in the 2100 block of KY 58.
Sheriff Jon Hayden said in the post the plane landed but the pilot was unable to get the plane to stop at the end of the runway. The plane continued into a grassy area, through a fence, crossing KY 58 and hitting the home.
Police said the home was occupied, but she was not injured. The pilot was the only one on board the plane, and was not injured.
Out of safety, KY 58 will be closed at KY 131 on the west side and KY 301 on the west end with local traffic only.
