LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man has been arrested after police say he drove through a construction area and nearly struck two workers there.
According to an arrest report, the incident took place at 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Police say 60-year-old Dirk Tackett was driving a 1994 blue BMW near the I-64 ramp to I-65 southbound, when he "went through numerous barriers, lights and other obstacles, nearly striking two construction workers."
He was eventually stopped at the corner of Jefferson St. and Brook St.
Police say they immediately noticed a small glass vial containing suspected cocaine inside the car, near the driver's side floor board. They say Tackett was also "jerky, sweaty and talkative," and had constricted pupils.
Tackett allegedly admitted that the substance in the vial was cocaine.
He was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, wanton endangerment, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain required insurance.
