LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after police say she was hit by a car driven by an intoxicated driver.
It happened shortly before 2 a.m. this morning. Louisville Metro Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell says the woman was walking in the middle of the road on I-65 southbound near Eastern Pkwy.
That's when 59-year-old Thomas King, who was driving southbound, ran into her with his car.
She was taken to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
King is charged with DUI.
Police say they do not know the identity of the woman. She had no identification on her person.
They also say they don't know why she was walking in the middle of the street.
