LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A big happy birthday to another Louisville park that is approaching the century mark.
Portland Park on North 27th Street is turning 100 this year. It was acquired in 1924.
On Saturday, Louisville Parks and Recreation hosted a birthday party with music, food trucks, entertainment and vendors. The community center was also open which was the focus of the day.
"It shows community, it shows we are taking ownership of our parks, and that we are taking our parks seriously and enjoying them," said Laneisha Beasley, the community outreach supervisor.
Portland Park boasts a green space, basketball court, sprayground and other amenities people could take part in while attending the celebration.
