LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Metro Police Department celebrated officers who are rising up the ranks.
The department hosted a promotions ceremony Monday morning in the Mayor's Gallery at Metro Hall in downtown Louisville.
LMPD Chief Paul Humphrey said he wanted officers to think about three things as they move forward—decision making, work ethic and accountability.
"Serve with humility," Humphrey said during the ceremony. "Take all the blame and give all the credit. You will accomplish nothing on your own. Everything that happens positively is because of the people who work with you and for you."
The chief promoted experienced officers to sergeant, lieutenant and major rankings. He also promoted members of LMPD's professional staff.
