LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Purdue University President Mitch Daniels is about talking higher education issues, trends, and the economy.

He's in the middle of a trip to Washington, D.C. and New York City that includes meeting with the state's congressional delegation, speaking at a higher education summit, and doing media interviews.

Daniels is scheduled to speak next week to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce national board of directors and in support of government spending on fundamental scientific research.

Daniels became Purdue's president in January after his second term as governor ended.
