FRANKFORT, Ky. (WDRB) -- The recanvass of vote totals in Kentucky's gubernatorial did not change the results of the race.
Secretary of State Alison Grimes announced the results soon after Gov. Matt Bevin conceded the race to Governor-elect Andy Beshear.
She said none of the results changed from the official count from all 120 Kentucky counties that she certified on Nov. 8. Grimes said Beshear and Lt. Governor-elect Jacqueline Coleman won the race by 5,136 votes. The recanvass of the vote will be certified by the Board of Elections at 10 a.m. Nov. 21.
Secretary of State-Elect Michael Adams was invited by Grimes to watch the recanvass.
"I want to reassure all Kentuckians that this process is being done by the book," he said in a news release.
County-by-county results of the recanvass can be found on the Secretary of State's website. The vote tally for Jefferson County was complete by 9:30 a.m. and remains unchanged, according to election officials.
Bevin had refused to concede last week’s election and requested the recanvass.
