LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Republican incumbent Todd Rokita won a reelection bid for Indiana's attorney general.
The Associated Press called the race in favor of Rokita at 8:46 p.m. after he received 59.2% of the votes. 53% of the votes in Indiana had been counted when the Associated Press called the race.Â
Rokita was elected to his first term in November 2020, winning the most votes of any officeholder in Indiana's history.
Before being elected to attorney general, Rokita served as Secretary of State for two terms.Â
During his first term, Rokita implemented the nation's first-ever photo Voter ID law.Â
Destiny Wells was the Democratic candidate running for Indiana's Attorney General. Currently, Wells is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve serving as military intelligence office. She was previously an Associate Corporation Counsel for the City of Indianapolis and Marion County, and Deputy Attorney General.Â
