LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Clark County 911 could have more room to expand its emergency operations after River Ridge officials approved plans to reserve land for a future project.

The River Ridge Development Authority voted to hold about 3.5 acres next to the county's 911 call center on Lentz Avenue. The property will remain available for up to three years while Clark County 911 works to secure state and federal funding and finalize its plans.

The proposed project calls for a logistics and emergency response building that would house equipment and supplies used during natural disasters, large emergencies and other critical incidents.

Officials said the additional space would help ensure emergency resources are ready when they're needed most, while supporting the agency's future growth.

"Approval of this resolution reflects RRDA’s continued commitment to supporting essential public safety infrastructure and ensuring that land is available for projects that benefit Clark County residents," said Marc Hildenbrand, RRDA Executive Director. "This is exactly the kind of public-purpose partnership envisioned in the reuse of this former military property."
