LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Eight Tibetan Buddhist monks from India, armed with sand to bring peace to the streets of Louisville, spent days creating a sand mandala.Â
The artwork was dedicated to gunshot victims.Â
Two of the six victims from the shooting at Cole's Place on July 19 received white shawls as an offering of blessings.Â
Both men say they are in pain every day and afraid to leave their homes.Â
"I don't want to do nothing no more, but I don't want to feel like this is going to hold me back forever where I can't enjoy my life," Kendall Starks said.
The sand mandala is a visual prayer to help open minds and promote peace for people of all faiths.Â
