LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The relatively warmer temperatures have helped melt most of Louisville's remaining snow and ice, but there's some straggler patches that are still standing.
Metro Councilman Ben Reno-Weber, D-8, and Councilwoman Becky Ruhe, D-21, started a scavenger hunt challenge at the end of January to find the last of the remaining snow and ice.
They said it's a fun way to encourage families to get outside and explore.
All you have to do is look for icy patches around Louisville, post a photo of a spot you found to either council member's Facebook page under the Icy Patch Treasure Hunt photo with #LouisvilleIcyHunt and where it is. There's also a icy treat up for grabs as the prize if you find the last icy spot.
"Grab a friend, your kids, or explore shaded areas of the city and Metro Parks to find those icy patches," Ruhe said. "This is a fun activity with a sweet reward. Stay safe, have fun, and happy hunting!"
The hunt is said to go on until people can't find anymore snow or ice patches.
