LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A southern Indiana sheriff said he may have to take School Resource Officers (SROs) out of some schools.
Scott County Sheriff Jerry Goodin said in a Facebook post Friday he's considering reassigning SROs from three elementary schools.
Goodin said the department has not been able to hire new deputies, and the SROs could be needed for patrol work.
The sheriff said his department can't compete with the pay being offered by surrounding departments.
The Scott County Council is expected to vote on a budget proposal for the department next week.
Goodin also posted the below video to Facebook regarding the issue.
