LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One cheering section for the Louisville Bats game on Wednesday had a little more gray hair than usual.

A local chapter of the Twilight Wish Foundation treated a group of senior citizens to a day at Slugger Field.

"I'm happy to be here today, it's picture perfect, and I'm happy for this significant outing," Michael Fry said.

Wednesday, about 16 residents of Community Towers in the Russell neighborhood got to attend a Louisville Bats game.

The special day was courtesy of the national nonprofit, which grants wishes for seniors over 65 years old who live below the poverty level.

Residents of Community Towers often have to spend extra money on transportation because they live in an area with limited access to grocery stores, doctors' offices and other attractions.

Twilight Wish helped out by getting them tickets to the game and getting them there safe.

"It means getting out socializing being a part of something that is big in Louisville," said Julie Hartmann, with the Twilight Wish Foundation. "The Louisville Slugger Field is a wonderful place to go and its a great way for them to get out and talk with other people and just be a part of something special."
