LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A medical center in Seymour, Indiana, suffered a security breach.

According to an online statement, Schneck Medical Center learned that it was the victim of a cyberattack Wednesday. The health care provider said only that the attack "affected organizational operations."

"These types of situations take time to fully resolve," the center said in a statement. "We are working with IT security experts to methodically investigate the situation, are in the process of notifying law enforcement and are taking appropriate actions to safely and quickly resolve any disruptions to our systems."

The statement does not indicate if patients' personal information was compromised. WDRB News contacted the hospital Thursday afternoon, but no one was available for comment.

An employee said the hack affected the center's phone system. But the center said its medical services are unaffected.

"Patients should arrive for scheduled services and appointments, unless otherwise contacted," the center said. "Questions about appointments or treatment plans should be directed to your healthcare provider. For Schneck Urology and Schneck Pulmonology questions, please call 812-522-0530. For Schneck Endocrinology and Schneck Neurology questions, please call 812-523-5202."
