LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Southern Indiana little league team is heading to the World Series.
The Highlander Youth Recreation League, who are currently undefeated, is made up of 13- and 14-year-old boys. The team is gearing up to compete against the best teams in the country representing the Central Region.
The players told WDRB they're thrilled for the opportunity, and their coach said this is a special group.
"One through 12, everybody is giving it their all, it is a true team effort, every win, everybody does something every game," Adam DeSpain, assistant coach, said. "I couldn't say more good things about them, to be perfectly honest, it is a great group of kids, and it's an honor to be a part of the staff."
The games start on Sunday, July 28, in Livermore, California.
