LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- St. Vincent de Paul opened a new thrift store Friday in Okolona.
The new location at 8633 Preston Highway in the Bittersweet Shopping Center will sell new mattresses, new and used clothing, household items and more.
St. Vincent de Paul has two other Louisville locations -- one at 10280 Shelbyville Road in Dorsey Plaza and another at 2217 Hikes Lane.Â
All the proceeds from the thrift stores help people in need.
"We have about 12 housing programs, we're feeding roughly 330 people lunch and dinner for free every day at our Open Hand Kitchen and then we also have a food pantry," said Tony Nochin, communications and public relations for St. Vincent de Paul. "Our wraparound services — case management as well as counseling — it all funnels back to that and what is most needed at the time."
