LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some ladies in Bullitt County were "thinking pink" Monday evening.
The Think Pink Dinner was put on by the Kentucky Cancer Program, Bullitt County Health Department and Bullitt County Extension, in Shepherdsville.
The goal is to reduce cancer rates, education and prevention, and provide access to care.
One nurse who works with cancer patients said community support is everything.
"Places that bring people together, who have shared a similar experience, that can really bring you out of your isolation or thinking 'why is this just happening to me,'" said Crystal Labbato, APRN with the Baptist Health Survivorship Program.
WDRB's Fallon Glick emceed the event.
Nearly 70 breast cancer survivors and their families attended.
