LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The community fun continued into the Highlands on Saturday at the 30th all-day long, annual Bardstown Road Aglow.

Thousands of folks shopped until they dropped. Families also enjoyed special discounts on food, drinks and merchandise up and down Bardstown Road, Baxter and Barret Avenues and Douglass Loop.

Wrapping up the night, dozens made their way to the annual Wendy's Holiday Tree Lighting where they lit the tree surrounded by free hot chocolate and Voices of Kentuckiana carolers.

"Oh, it's amazing," Jana Jackson, who attended the event, said. "I think it's just the Highlands is such a community unlike anywhere else. So to have events like these that bring us all together, it's great."

The Highland Commerce Guild organized the event with Louisville Metro Government. "They're the best for putting this all on," Jackson said.

"I love the people, that and my grandbaby. This is her first time she's actually experiencing the lights," Lisa Tyree, who also watched the Christmas lighting, said.

TARC also helped shuttle people to Bardstown Road.
