LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A turkey crashed into the windshield of a car traveling on U.S. 31 in Clark County Thursday morning, hitting the the driver.
Monroe Township Fire Department said crews were dispatched at 8:57 a.m. Thursday for single-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 31 near Beagle Club Road in Clark County, Indiana.
Responders were told a turkey crashed into the vehicle and went through the windshield, colliding with the female driver.
The driver, a woman, who was traveling with her two young children at the time, instinctively threw the bird the into the passenger seat and pulled over to called 911.
A Clark County Sherriff's Deputy arrived first and removed the turkey from the car before assessing the woman and her children for injuries.
The children were uninjured. The driver had minor cuts and was transported from the scene by a family member.
