LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — UPS is putting $2 billion into expanding its global operations over the next two years, including growth in its healthcare business in Louisville.
The company announced plans to extend investments that began in 2024 through 2028. The projects include new and expanded facilities in several countries as UPS works to move more shipments through its international and healthcare networks.
According to our partners at Louisville Business First, UPS plans to open a new hub at Clark Airport in the Philippines by the end of 2026, a facility in Barrie, Ontario, in 2027 and a new air hub at Hong Kong International Airport in 2028.
That development has already made its way to Louisville.
UPS opened its $100 million Healthcare Labport in January 2025. The 54,356-square-foot facility was built to support companies handling medical diagnostics and other healthcare-related shipments.
HealthTrackRx opened its $46 million laboratory inside the Labport last year. The lab can process up to 200,000 patient samples a month and provide next-morning results to about 5,000 urgent care clinics across the country, according to LBF.
UPS announced in June that it plans to add two buildings to the Labport campus.
The first would include more than 13,000 square feet of offices and labs, while the second would add more than 56,600 square feet of laboratory space. No construction timeline has been announced.
