LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A veteran injured in Iraq opens the door to a new home in Louisville and a whole new world.
Sgt. Devin Marshall and his wife Joy just walked into their new, mortgage-free home.
A program called Building Homes for Heroes partnered with JPMorgan Chase to donate homes to veterans across the country.
The Marshalls moved to Louisville to be closer to family.
Sgt. Marshall joined the military after 9-11, and suffered numerous injuries after a rocket explosion. His new home includes items such as a lift to make it easier to get around.
"It's just overwhelming. I don't know, I can't say thank you enough and hug enough people to say thank you. It's just completely overwhelming," said Sgt. Marshall.
The program has gifted more than 150 homes to veterans across the country.
This is the first one in Louisville.
