LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Volunteers were busy Wednesday evening prepping Thanksgiving meal boxes ahead of next week's holiday.

Texas Roadhouse and Enterprise Mobility partnered up for the event that was organized by Volunteers of America.

There were 160 turkeys donated, as well as all of the sides to go along with them.

In Louisville, VOA supports Freedom House and Liberty Place, which help people through recovery as well as the emergency shelter, Unity House.

"For the families that we serve, not only do they get to enjoy this nutritious meal, this delicious meal together, but they also get a strong message about how important it is for the community to embrace them and support them," Jennifer Hancock, president and CEO of VOA, said. "It's really special for our families because they get to feel the warm embrace and compassion of this community."

Not only do the meal boxes have everything for a Thanksgiving dinner, they also include breakfast food for Thanksgiving morning.
