LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- St. Vincent de Paul Louisville's 28th annual Santa Shop happens Dec. 15 with the goal of serving nearly 1,000 children.
Volunteers and donations are needed to make that happen.
The event starts at 10 a.m. Dec. 15, and continues until 6 p.m. A mini mall will be set up in the Family Success Center gym at the nonprofit's Shelby Park campus. On the day of the event, parents or guardians can pick out clothing, toys, books, games and stocking stuffers.
Last year, nearly 400 volunteers provided more than 800 children with gifts thanks to generous individual and group donations. St. Vincent de Paul officials are hoping to help 978 children ages infant to 17 years old this year.
If you'd like to help with gifts, individuals or groups can drop off new, unwrapped gifts from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Dec. 14 at 1015-C S. Preston Street.
A Christmas Wish List has donation suggestions for boys and girls.
Volunteers are also needed to help with setup Dec. 13 or or with the event itself Dec. 15. There are three options for volunteers: Elves, Santa’s Helpers; Craft Artists. Volunteers can expect to work 2-hour shifts.
