LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An annual event that fundraises for victims of domestic violence and human trafficking was held in Louisville on Sunday.

St. Vincent de Paul held its sixth annual Roses and Rosé event at The Olmsted. The event featured women-owned business in a vendor village, a silent auction, wine pull and brunch. The proceeds from the event benefit victims of domestic violence, human trafficking and their families.

According to a news release, St. Vincent de Paul served 98 households and 152 people, including 47 children, last year. Around 75% of the people the nonprofit helped ended up in permanent housing.

"It's such a great cause and it's a fun event," Makenzie Greenwell, the senior development and events coordinator, said. "It's upbeat, it's light-hearted but everybody knows they're here for a good reason. It's a Sunday event so hopefully everybody is feeling in that mood and we can really raise some money for our programming."

St. Vincent de Paul Louisville supports women, men and children with its Domestic Violence Transitional Housing Shelter and the Domestic Violence Transitional Housing program.

Earlier this year,Ā St. Vincent de Paul opened its Waypoint House in Louisville, a 24-single room residence for male and female veterans who are homeless, at immediate risk of homelessness or living in transitional housing.
