LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman died in a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning near Valley Station.
In a news release, Louisville Metro Police said 3rd Division officers were called around 1:50 a.m. to a report of a crash on Lower River Road near Watson Lane.
When officers arrived, they found a car had hit a utility pole. LMPD said the initial investigation shows the car was traveling south and lost control in a curve, left the roadway, overcorrected, hit the pole and caught fire.
A woman, the only person in the car, died at the scene. Her name name has not been released.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating.
