LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Keeping veterans and National Guard members and their families employed in Kentucky is the goal of a three-day workshop and job fair that wrapped up Thursday in Louisville.

Service members who have returned home from war and are looking for work can get help with resume writing and the interview process.

Congressman John Yarmuth spoke to the vets, telling them how important these types of programs are.  Soldiers say this event is critical to helping them get back to some sense of normalcy.

Nicholas Kelly, a signals intelligence analyst, says: "When we get back, we are simply trying to transition back and become a part of society again, and we find it really difficult simply because we are -- it is a change -- which puts a lot of pressure on us. But we're trying to find our place again."

Veterans are also paired up with Kentucky companies looking to hire.  More of these events are planned around Kentucky.
