A pregnant mare with a colt that's still nursing survived after 20 horses were shot to death in eastern Kentucky. The mare and her colt are now being cared for at Willow Hope Farm in Simpsonville, Ky.

Investigators are still looking for whoever is responsible, and others are focusing on keeping the remaining horses safe.
The Kentucky Humane Society Equine CARE posted on Facebook that a third survivor of the December horse massacre near the Pike-Floyd County has been rescued.Â
The horses, including pregnant mares and even foals, were found shot to death on a strip mine site on the Pike and Floyd County line in December.Â
