Police say the younger son of Rob Reiner is in jail for what investigators believe was the fatal stabbing a day earlier of the director-actor and his wife Michele at their home in Los Angeles. It was not immediately clear what charges 32-year-old Nick Reiner would face. A police statement said he was being held without bail. It wasn’t clear if he had an attorney who could speak on his behalf. Rob Reiner was known for directing films like “This is Spinal Tap” and “A Few Good Men.” He married photographer Michele Singer Reiner in 1989. They had three children together.
A law enforcement official tells The Associated Press that Rob Reiner’s son, Nick Reiner, has been taken into custody after deaths of the director-writer and his wife Michele. The Reiners were found dead Sunday at their home in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a medical aid request around 3:30 p.m. and discovered a 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman deceased inside. Detectives are investigating it as an apparent homicide. Reiner, known for directing films like “This is Spinal Tap” and “A Few Good Men,” was 78. He was married to Michele since 1989. They had three children together.
