LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — An investigator for Louisville Metro's Office of Inspector General was arrested for allegedly shooting a man near the Heritage Creek neighborhood.
Matthew Sanders, a spokesman for Louisville Metro Police, said officers responded to a shooting in the 8700 block of Warbler Branch Way just before 11 p.m. on Saturday
Police said a man was shot in the arm and taken to UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to court documents, Tracy Carter was arrested in connection with the shooting.
The victim told police he had gotten into a verbal argument with Carter and as he was getting into his vehicle, she began hitting the front windshield but he was struggling to leave due to the snow.
Carter then began shooting at his vehicle from the garage and the victim got out to ask why she was shooting at him, court documents state.
Carter admitted to officers that she shot the victim in the arm, according to court documents.
Her online biography states Carter began her criminal justice career in 2018 as a probation and parole officer for the Kentucky Department of Corrections. She then became an investigator with the Louisville Metro Office of Inspector General Office.
Carter was booked into Metro Corrections and has an arraignment scheduled for Monday. She's been initially charged with assault - domestic violence.
