LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man has been charged with murder in connection with a fatal shooting in Louisville's Shelby Park neighborhood earlier this month.
Officers responded on Dec. 3 to the 600 block of East Oak Street just before 6 p.m. on a report of a person down inside an apartment, Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.
When police arrived at the scene, they found a man who had been shot multiple times. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene, Mitchell said.
Police said in an update Monday that 35-year-old William Baker was arrested and charged with murder, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and tampering with physical evidence.
According to court documents, Baker was apprehended on Dec. 4 as a person of interest in the shooting investigation. Police allegedly found methamphetamine inside his backpack at that time.
He appeared in court for the possession of a controlled substance charge on Dec. 5.
